Tomato's MOTHER 3 Fan Translation notes are an inside look at the translation side of the process - kind of an analogue to the M3FT Blog, which covered the technical side of things. They're called notes, but they're more like commentary tracks on a DVD. Tomato has taken the time to analyze some of the deleted/hidden MOTHER 3 content scattered throughout the ROM - sprites, sounds, music, maps, and even text that never quite made it into the game! Use these tools to translate MOTHER 3 into your own language! They're not perfect and they have limitations, but they could be helpful! On July 19, 2009, version 1.1 was released, containing typo/grammar corrections and a series of bug fixes. It was downloaded well over 100,000 times in the months which followed. On October 17, 2008, version 1.0 of the fan translation was released. Mother 3 is the sequel to EarthBound (an epic Super Nintendo RPG released in 1995) which was in development for 12 years before it was released in Japan in April 2006.
